Hi everyone, it's Willow!
Here is the second part to our sewing spree post. After much anticipation we got the Lilly Boo shorts we ordered from Closet 4 Chloe last Wednesday. The are adorable, and have a functional little pocket.
Here the shorts are with the shirt we made. The look grows on me more and more every time I see it.
The outfit looks great on McKenna! It is just what we hoped.
Shifting gears, Honey also made a dress as a part of her recent "sewing spree".
Here it is:
This is another great look for McKenna!
Blues just look so wonderful on her, it's great.
Stay tuned for next part (part 3) where we will reveal the other piece of the Etsy order. The camp tees!

Etsy Order Coming & Sewing Spree
Hi everyone! It's Willow and Honey.
For months now I have been browsing Etsy looking for the perfect item to purchase. While reading the blog Clarisse's Closet, I stumbled upon the shop Closet 4 Chloe which had SOO MUCH CUTE STUFF!!! When Honey and I went to order the shirts for PVLC, we caved and bought these:
These were purchased with McKenna in mind, but after we bought them we realized we don't have a shirt to go with them. Ooops.
Sooooo... I decided to make a shirt! We had a pattern from Liberty Jane (conveniently free) so all I had to do was sew it. Except I had one problem. The last shirt I had tried to sew ended up like this:
I was a little reluctant to do it again but I decided I might as well try.
And it actually worked. I finally figured out how to sew on sleeves and not having a colar or buttons really helped. Personally, It was one of the most satisfying things I've made so far.
Then Willow put McKenna in an outfit and we went outside for a quick photo shoot.
Then, Willow had a the idea to do water color paints on the shirt. We didn't really know how it was going to work but since we didn't have any fabric dye on hand we took a quick trip to our local fabric store. And you won't be able to guess what was waiting there... fabric water colors! Seriously, I didn't even know they sold that kind of thing. So we came home and painted an anchor design then waited 8 hours.
I turned out super fabulous, but we had to wait even more so it could dry. So yeah.
But then:
AWESOME!
Stay tuned for part 2, in which we will assemble the final outfit!

Please American Girl, just STOP.
Hi everyone, this is Willow. If you follow our Google+, you probably saw the changes to the historical line. I could make this a long rant post but instead I thought I'd warn you which items I believe they will retire, and you should purchase if you want them. The information on the new unreleased releases are in these videos:

If you want Addy in her current Meet Dress, you should probably get her soon. I would also watch any of the best friend dolls, such as Ivy and Ruthie. Marie-Grace and Cecile will be retiring too so I would take a look at their collection. If you want any of the Historical book series, I would get those as well because they are replacing them in favor of new three book series, in which the authors have been switched around, oftentimes. Overall I would watch all the meet outfits as those are different on the new book series. It is unfortunate, but I feel that the second generation of American Girl is probably ending (the first being pre-mattel or Pleasant Company, the second being 2000s to now). If American Girl isn't going to remember their roots, we at least should.

Camp Poems
So, Maple, Willow and I (Honey) were writing poems about camp.
Both Willow and I wrote acrostics. Here they are in respective order:
Crazy fun-the very best kind
Awesomeness- the kind that leaves you blind
Magic- of the friendship genre
Pools- all camps have them
C is for the cake we have before we leave
A is afterwards when we come home
M is fore math which we don't do at camp
P is for parties which we also don't do at camp
As you can tell we write poems for a living.
Here is Maple's haiku:
camp and friends galore
Cloudless skies and blazing sun
No school, no homework
Yeah she's actually pretty good!
I did write one okay poem though. It was for a school assignment were you would write a poem and then switch with someone who would illustrate it. So mine was:
My life is a lie
Deceive again and again
Here behind a mask
Here is the picture:
Later,
Honey
