Spa Day!

Hey peeps! It's Maple. Today Taryn and Saila went to the spa so they could be totally ready to party on Canada Day. When they weren't looking I took some pictures. They are going to be so mad when they find out ;) Oh, and if you're wondering that clear bubbly stuff is a hotel sample filled with mild   hand soap and water. And, yes, it is safe to use on dolls. One more note, the stuff in the background is for our upcoming AGMV! You should totally watch it when it comes out!

Sorry for the weird lighting! It's actually very relaxing when your laying in it!

Trendy Tuesday ~ Floral Patterns

Welcome to Trendy Tuesday, everyone!

Today we are going to talk about a trend I had seen, but didn't really notice 'til Etsy pointed it out for me.
Thank you for doing my work for me, Etsy.
The more I thought about it, the more I realized that florals really are "in"right now. With that in mind, I raided my doll closet to see what we could pull together in terms of floral themed outfits.
Addy, McKenna, Taryn, and Cecile
Aside from looking great with Cecile's eyes, I love how this outfit gives off a mature vibe while still feeling fun. This is largely due to the style of flowers used on the dress. These flowers are stylized and playful, making the entire outfit more fun.
Taryn's look has a somewhat boho feel, what with the flower crown and lace up boots. Both her top and skirt have a more realistic flower pattern to them, lending a more sophisticated look to the whole ensemble.
This outfit was a no brainer, since we bought it from American Girl ready assembled. The flowers on this outfit are just one of the many details, but I think they add an air of whimsy to the whole ensemble.

Addy's outfit is very coordinated and features flowers quite prominently. The flowers on her dress are semi-realistic, and not as sophisticated as Taryn's. Her outfit looks like it could come from the junior's section in a department store.

Are your dolls looking for some floral options this spring? Here are a few...
1. Gray Coral Floral Sleeveless Princess SKATER DRESS for 18 Inch from Closet4Chloe
This dress is oh so trendy, and a perfect cut for summer. It also breaks from the usual elegant styles usually used for florals and is more urban.
2. Floral and Lace Sleeveless DRESS from Closet4Chloe
This dress is perfect for a tea party, has a retro twist, and uses florals in both lace and fabric! We love the mixture of colors and idyllic country style it evokes!
3. Delicate Garden - Skirt Set for American Girl from cupcakecutiepie
What an adorable outfit! The skirt and shirt are a perfect match, and so elegant too! We love the three quarter sleeves and ample use of lace.
4. Summer dress and shoes made to fit 18" American Girl doll from menabella
The pintucks on the front of this dress are adorable, and this dress is another great use of lace and flowers in tandem. We especially appreciate the two layers of the skirt, giving the dress an unusual fulness.
5. Summer Shirt- Pink- Floral from daisychainsdoll
This cute shirt has great colors and is a breath of fresh air since florals are being used so heavily with skirts and dresses.

I hope you enjoyed the first Trendy Tuesday! Stay tuned, next week we look at Tribal Prints and Harem pants!

Maple's Fantastic Wishlist

I was just wandering around when Willow is all like, "Hey Maple, you should blog your wishlist." And I thought, "I haven't blogged in so long. Why not?" And that is how this post came to be. But really, on to the important stuff.

1. Night Owl Nightwear for Girls
2.  Snowshoes and Beaver

3. High Country Hiking

                                                  4. New 2014 Canada t-shirt for girls

5. Extreme Green
6. HER.
That pretty much sums it up.

Etsy Order & Sewing Spree Part 3

Hello everyone! Here is the last part of our sewing spree post. The first and seconds parts are the last two posts, so just scroll down.

This last little project really didn't have all that much to do with sewing, it was more of a crafting thing. As I mentioned before, there was a second piece to our etsy order. Camp Tees!
$4 Per T-shirt, pretty much.
We used this iron-on paper that we got at Joann's, it was super easy to use and the effect was perfect. It was also really inexpensive when compared to getting screen printing done.
You can see the outline of the piece we ironed on.
It looks really good on the t-shirt, the only drawback being the square of white that gets ironed on, and makes the shirt a bit stiff. Other than that, it looks great! Another detail is that the colors are slightly lighter on the shirt then they are on the printables I printed on regular paper. Still, I am confident that the shirts will do their job, and extremely well for the cost of making them.
Friends!

Close up of the shirt detail.

Don't fall asleep!

We are super-dee-duper excited!
We are so excited about these super cute t-shirts! Here is the link to the review video on our Youtube, where you can see these shirts in action:

The Basilmentos Meet

Yes, we met Basilmentos Saturday. It was AMAZING!
The gift we gave Basilmentos, along with the posters she autographed later.
We gave Basilmentos an outfit honey sewed, which you can see in one of Basilmentos' posts here.
It is under the balloon Basilmentos' doll is holding.
Here is McKenna modeling the skirt and beanie we gave Basilmentos with an overcoat we made later
Not only was Basilmentos there, but Five Doll Stars was there too! It was so exciting to meet two Awesome stopmotioners!
Our Dolls with Crystal from FiveDollStars
Aside from the super-famous AGtubers above mentioned, we also met some lesser know ones too, such as SparkFireProductions and The Dolly Trolley
All of the dolls (including ours) who were at the meet at this point!
We took a lot of pictures at the meet, mostly of our dolls with other dolls! Here are some of my favorites:

Unfortunately, Addy and Sassafras didn't come with us on this trip :( so they aren't in any pictures. Also, because I don't feel comfortable sharing my face online, I haven't posted any pictures of the people who were there. I'm really sorry if you're disappointed, I just wouldn't want to invade anyone's privacy.

Hopefully sometime soon we'll have more pictures of what we got and a video about the experience. If you can't wait here and here are some great Vlogs about the meet up. Here's our dolls talking about it from the AG store.

Until next time,

PETS!

Hey guys, Its Maple!
Lets talk about pets. They're awesome right? Well, PVGC has pets too! No I don't mean there is a club pet! :) I mean club MEMBERS have pets. Lets start with my beloved Taryn. She has Boulder, a Bernese Mountain dog, and plans to adopt a puppy. ( Yay!) Mckenna has a puppy named Cooper. He is a Fur real dog ( unfortunately ) not an AG dog. But he is named after Mckenna's AG dog. Saila  has a dog named Nukilik and her puppy Nanuq. Both are Canadian Inuit dogs. Addy and Marie-Grace don't have any pets ( What a shame! ). Maybe Taryn can convince them...

Pine Valley Elementary. In case you were wondering...

Hi everyone! It's Willow and Honey.

We've already established that when you get perfect outfits for your dolls, the only thing you can do is make a video! Actually, I was going to say that we've made it clear our dolls live in the fictional town of Pine Valley. The question was: Where do they go to school? What do they do at school? And why don't they have ditch days?

The Answer: Our new series!!!!!
This is our first live action series, so we'll see how it goes, (actually it's our only series other than Concrete Princesses) but it should be easier to do than stopmotion. Which takes forever. The series will pretty much show you what our dolls do at school and such, which sounds boring but... Well... Marie-Grace tends to shake things up a bit. We interviewed our dolls to see what they thought about having a Reality TV show about them. Here's what they said.

Marie-Grace: SO EXCITING! Gotta change my outfit! #lookingfaballdetime

McKenna: Can we have a rockband? I just got a new guitar!

Taryn: Why would you make a series about US. I mean, couldn't you have chosen something better?

Addy: Hold on, I'm drinking my tea.

Saila:.... Sure!

As you can see, there were a lot of differing opinions. And McKenna does have a new guitar, but that's a series for another time.
Here is the link to the video. Enjoy!
